A couple weeks ago I shared Zhana’s birth story on Thriving Health’s social media pages. I gave a glimpse into the adventure of her early birth. Although there was so much unexpected, I had a positive experience and a beautiful natural birth. Everyone’s pregnancy, labor, and birth can be completely different from each other….and different than we plan. However, I do believe there are things we mamas can do to prepare for a natural birth and maximize our experience. The next few weeks I am going to break down my top 3 tips for a natural birth! Maximize Your Nutrition: Understanding what our specific body needs during pregnancy can often prevent gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, and other complications that lead to early inductions and C-sections. Train For Birth: Labor is a marathon for which physical and mental training is essential. We need endurance, strength, and techniques to have a natural birth. Build a Dynamic Support Team: Midwives and doulas can provide the skills and coaching to help us navigate challenges in labor and prevent unwanted interventions.
