The World of Our Immune System: Introduction

Our immune system is a complex network of cells, tissues, and organs that helps the body fight infections and other diseases. It is our military which protects us from microbial invaders and manages inflammation on the home front. The primary components of the immune system include the tonsils, adenoids, lymph nodes, thymus, spleen, peyer’s patches, appendix, and bone marrow. A few weeks ago I shared with you a strategy to strengthen your immune system. This protocol was both to enable you to ward off acute conditions such as colds and flus as well as prevent chronic conditions and diseases that develop from a weakened immune system. Now, I dive significantly deeper into this fascinating militant network. Together we will journey through the following topics and more: -The anatomy and physiology of the immune system. -Acute vs. chronic immune conditions. -The defense methods of the immune system. -Differences between a bacteria, virus, parasite, and fungus. -Inflammations relationship to immune system. -How our foundations of digestion, blood sugar handling, minerals, fatty acids, and hydration impact the immune system. -Our gut/brain connection. In between this bi-weekly series, continue to anticipate “Thriving Recipes and Thriving Tips.” I look ahead to a rewarding discussion on this system and welcome your questions and input along the way!
